The presented letter can be found in the archive of the Social
Observatory Fund in Wrocław as part of the collection of documents
of Prof. Rev. Józef Majka. When Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński
wrote the letter to Rev. Majka, he was a priest at the Tarnów
Diocese and scientifically related mostly to the Lublin Catholic
University. In his first texts, Rev. Wyszyński commented on the
ongoing social, political and religious events in the context of
Christian morality and the Polish national interest. He was against
liberalization of social life, impact of left-wing movements
and anticlericalism. He considered social matters in the spirit
of Christian personalism, acknowledging the emerging modern
social teachings at that period. Apart from journalistic and editorial
activities, he was also involved in social undertakings.
