Tolerancja religijna na Bliskim Wschodzie. Ustawodawstwo a rzeczywistość.

Abstrakt
Christians are persecuted in the Middle East. Rarely religious
freedom in these countries hardly exists at all. Authorities make
it difficult for Christians to build churches and publicly profess
their faith. Devastations of temples and profane religious symbols
take place. They are also treated as second-class citizens.
An even worse situation is encountered by Muslims who convert
to Christianity. Initially, these are threats, abductions or arrests,
but this often ends with the death penalty. At the beginning
of 2011, when the Arab Spring broke out, the situation of local
Christians became even worse, as Islamic extremist groups began
religious purges. Thousands of Christians die every day for
faith. Modern lay and Christian organizations (including Help
to the Church in Need) estimate that about 150,000-170,000
Christians in the world die for faith each year.
