PHILOSOPHICAL SOURCES OF TRANSFORMATIONS BETWEEN THE RENAISSANCE HUMANISM AND THE MODERN ERA

Abstract

The article concerns the systematization of ideas and important philosophical trends that influenced on the scientific and cultural changes between the 15th and 18th centuries. The article focuses on the development of knowledge, shaping new paradigms after the fall of the medieval world of Christianitas, i.e. on scientific ideas related to the era of inventions and discoveries in the fields of natural science, cosmology, in research observations combined with the mathematization of knowledge, verifiability, experiment, etc. The philosophical sources of this development are presented here, as well as the importance of ideological changes in the culture of Renaissance humanism, intended to reflect the perfect order of human reality (harmonia mundi). Many of these issues of ideas dominating in modern times provoke violent polemics about the moral intentions of development and changes that resulted from philosophical and social materialistic assumptions. These significant ideas seem to reflect not accidental accents of the effect of science and philosophy on culture, now and then related to esoteric knowledge, Kabbalah and alchemy.

Keywords:

Renaissance humanism, modern philosophy, social utopias, modern ideals, values of the Renaissance.
