DEVALUATION OF WORDS, REVALUATION OF ACTIONS – THE SHAPING OF SOCIAL TIES IN THE FACE OF WAR
Abstract
Peace is a great value, because the human being is aware of the cruelty of war, but also vice versa, war causes terror and permanent fear, because the mundane activities performed every day can bring satisfaction only in a society free from war. We must not only strive for peace, but also build it in everyday human relationships through words and deeds. On the one hand, verbal and non-verbal messages create strong social bonds between people, strengthen them internally, open them to others, and on the other hand, they contribute to deepening crises, dislikes, hates, and consequently to military confrontations. Living in truth in conjunction with freedom, justice and love is a powerful weapon during the war. The lack of the aforementioned values leads first to the devaluation of the word, the degeneration of trust, fear of real life and the challenges it contains, and as a result makes a person a weak, alienated individual, unable to act for the common good.
