The article describes a similarity of the reflections of Zygmunt Krasiński and Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński on Polish cultural and spiritual identity and mission of Poland in the modern world. Both the romantic poet and the blessed Primate of Poland perceived the identity of Poland deeply rooted in the Christian spiritual heritage, especially in terms of the presence of Christian morality in the private and public sphere. Krasiński and card. Wyszyński also shared the belief that Poland was to fulfill its mission as antemurale christianitats, i.e. to be a barrier against political and ideological trends that threaten to undermine the foundations of Christian civilization in Europe.
