When promoting the culture of meeting as the grounds for human communication,
Pope Francis claimed that it is worthwhile to sit down and listen to another man, since such behavior
is typical of a meeting between two people. Thus, open-mindedness is the model behavior for
someone who manages to overcome their narcissism and accepts the other person. The Pope finds
the phrase “culture of meeting” to be significant and often accentuated. It was mentioned in the
teachings of Buenos Aires Metropolitan Bishop, card. Jorge Mario Bergoglio and has been often
quoted in famous sermons at St. Gaetano Sanctuary. The message behind the “culture of meeting”
refers to brotherhood and encouragement for fruitful communication between people. If one has
the ability to meet with another person, that is half of the success. The Pope’s promotion of the
“culture of meeting” in human communication is of universal character. Nevertheless, it still remains
unheard of in times of the coronavirus pandemic
