The banner of the Pastoral Care of Working People in Legnica

Stanisław Andrzej Potycz

Abstract

Established in 1985, the Ministry for Workers in the parish of the Holy Trinity in Legnica operated until 1989. The continuation of this ministry to the present day is the Ministry for Workers ’90. The banner itself was designed by the renowned Legnica artist Jan Baca and crafted by the Clarisse Sisters of Perpetual Adoration from Ząbkowice Śląskie (OCPA). The banner was consecrated in 1987 by Saint John Paul II in Gdańsk during a Holy Mass. Members of the Ministry for Workers '90 guard the banner and everything it symbolizes, as they are convinced of the validity of the words of the Primate of the Millennium, Stefan Wyszyński: “The banner is
a symbol of holiness. Its place is between the national anthem and the military oath”.
