Man lives by values, which can be simplest divided into two main groups: spiritual values and material values. Material values primarily include power, money (possession), lawlessness, and freedom from obligations. On the other hand, spiritual values are those associated with intellectual knowledge and spiritual aspiration. Already in antiquity, distinguishing three types of knowledge: theoretical, practical, and productive, Aristotle attributed the following values to them: to theoretical knowledge – the value of truth, to practical knowledge – the value of goodness, to productive knowledge – the value of beauty. These values should be acquired by individuals through the process of education and self-education. They can be achieved through human effort supported by divine grace.
