The fundamental role of invisibility accomplished through the icon in the thought of Jean-Luc Marion (*1946)

Abstract
The main objective of the research is to determine the fundamental role of invisibility accomplished through the icon in Marion's thought. Marion, from the early years of his work, has been engaged in theological issues, including the problems of evil, freedom, enlightenment, phenomena of intersecting perspectives, crisis, and the question of the presence and absence of God. The philosophical-theological specificity of Marion's thought is gradually enriched with a phenomenological aesthetics, which will play a significant role in formulating a mature concept of the phenomenon saturated with four basic realities: the idol, the icon, the event, and corporeality.
