    Fundamental Aspects of the Issue of Freedom in the Socio-Economic Sphere in Light of the Ethical Thought of Father Professor Józef Majka

    Abstract

    The issue of freedom, analyzed in terms of its social dimension (especially economic), formally constitutes one of the pillars of contemporary Western civilization. Father Professor Józef Majka also refers to the social role of the principle of freedom in his publications, directing his attention toward the philosophical and ethical nature of freedom, which he implicitly derives from a personalist perspective on human existence. In this way, by referencing the spiritual principle of the existence of the person and the key role of freedom in the individual’s development process, he discusses aspects that are almost overlooked in broader social discourse. This gap represents a significant argument for recalling the aforementioned perspective present in the reflections of Father Professor Józef Majka.
