The text examines the challenges and prospects of Catholic social teaching in the context of the new pontificate of Pope Leo XIV. Starting from historical models of the Church’s relationship with the world, the author identifies current tensions and outlines key issues shaping contemporary Catholic social thought: the anthropological crisis, technological and ecological transformations, and communicational as well as institutional challenges. The analysis emphasizes the need for dialogue with modern society, creative discernment of the signs of the times, and methodological renewal. The conclusion highlights the importance of ensuring that Catholic social teaching remains a dynamic instrument of evangelization and a framework for building what theological discourse describes as a “civilization of love,” thereby supporting the mission of the Church understood as a gift to the world.
