One may look at the pontificate of John Paul II through the
prism of many aspects. The insight would be incomplete without
considering the topic of peace. John Paul II claimed that involvement
in building peace in the world was one of his most crucial
pastoral duties. The Pope contributed to the establishment of
peace in many ways. Mainly, he accomplished it through teachings
and practical activities. Both constitute the continuation of
the current involvement of the Church in the matter of peace.
However, it also includes new and original elements. It can be
treated as peculiar Christian guidelines for peace.
