Pope Francis, in the encyclical Fratelii tutti, notices the need for a better politics that
serves the common good. In his teaching he strongly emphasize the necessity for assurance of
respecting the dignity of every human being. In it, the common good, as the goal of politics, finds
its foundation. No state can deny anyone the right to a worthy life and integral development. The
encyclical Fratelli tutti shows the indifference in the attitude of the priest and the Levite, passing
by the stranger who was beaten and abandoned in the parable of the Good Samaritan. For the pope
Francis, the biblical parable is an opportunity to show indifference existing in the contemporary
societies, especially towards the weakest. Francis is anxious so that indifference does not lead to
exclusion, which is already appear in political, economic, social and religious projects. Francis
calls for building new social bonds based on love.
