Concepts such as development, growth and progress are very important for the Church’s
social doctrine. Each of them brings added value to the idea of improvement. Through its definitions, the concept of growth gathers everything what can be counted. The expression of progress,
in turn, will include those realities which bring a certain novelty to what has been achieved so
far. Finally, the domain of development will cover that what we want to give a subject-human
character. In a way, these concepts are identified with modernity. However, there is a danger that
deforms modernity itself. It is its ideologization, which introduces a false vision of the human being, world and God into the concept of modernity
