Artificial intelligence is undoubtedly one of the most influential and rapidly developing phenomena of contemporary times. Universities are creating new fields of study, and managers are continually implementing the latest AI solutions for business management, marketing, advertising, and promotion. This includes not only the promotion of various material products and new technologies but also dangerous ideologies and previously unimaginable methods of influencing people’s thinking and practical ways of taking over and exercising power. We are interested in finding answers to the following questions: Does AI have any connection with the pastoral work of the Church, and if so, in which areas of this activity? What are the potential benefits of AI that can be utilized in pastoral work, and what are the dangers? If there are risks, what formative challenges should be undertaken in the Church’s salvific activity? An attempt to answer these questions will be based on the first, currently few, statements from the Church’s Magisterium and the somewhat more numerous theological studies on this issue.
