CAN A SCIENTIST BE A BELIEF? “LOGOS” OF FAITH IN THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE BIBLE AND NATURAL SCIENCES

Abstract

Methodological naturalism forces us to separate science firmly from religion. The rightness
of such a division is beyond doubt today. However, the question arises whether practicing
science can be something that brings scientists closer to the spirituality directed towards the Supreme
Being. The article justifies the thesis that by discovering the truth about the world it is
possible to get closer to the truth understood also theologically. Its justification comes from both
the Bible and the history of science. Christianity is the religion of the “Logos”, which signifies the
intelligibility of the universe and of Christ himself. It seems right to assume that if nature has its
Creator, its study somehow reveals to us His idea – The Mind of God.
